Garmin have released the new very small Mini USB Ant stick, however we are seeing a few users have issues .
The inability to connect can be rectified using the following processes;
Newer Garmin Fitness devices that include the USB ANT Stick will now include the more compact ANT USB-m Stick. This smaller ANT Stick requires software drivers provided through Microsoft’s Windows Update service1. The software drivers may fail to install if the Windows Update service has been disabled. This only affects Windows computers.
If the messages “Device driver software was not successfully installed” or “No driver found” appears after inserting the ANT USB-m Stick, enable the Windows Update service.
To enable the Windows Update service for Windows XP:
- Disconnect the ANT USB-m Stick
- Click Start
- Click Control Panel
- Double-click System
- Click Hardware
- Click Windows Update
- Select “If my device needs a driver, go to Windows Update without asking me”
- Click OK
- Click OK
- Reconnect the ANT USB-m Stick
To enable the Windows Update service for Windows Vista/7/8:
- Disconnect the ANT USB-m Stick
- Click Start
- Click Control Panel
- Click System
- Click Advanced System Settings
- Click Hardware
- Click Device Installation Settings
- Select “Yes, do this automatically”
- Under the “No, let me choose what to do” option, the first two options are acceptable to allow the ANT USB-m Stick driver software to install properly. The third “Never” option will not fix the problem.
- Click Save Changes
- Reconnect the ANT USB-m Stick
The driver software will automatically install and allow the stick to be detected for the Garmin ANT Agent software.
